FC Zurich secured a 2-0 victory over city rivals Grasshoppers on the final day of the season to claim the Swiss Super League title in dramatic fashion - one point ahead of second-placed Basle.

Zurich, who won last year´s title by beating Basle themselves in the last game of the campaign, went into the derby clash knowing victory would be enough to again deny their bitter rivals for a second time.

Francileudo Santos gave the hosts the lead three minutes before half-time, and they were hanging on to a slender one-goal advantage until substitute Xavier Margairaz secured all three points in second-half injury time.
