Liverpool hero Stan Collymore believes Jurgen Klopp will move for some of Borussia Dortmund's leading stars in the future.

Writing for BoyleSports, Collymore claims that now is the time to swoop for the likes of Mats Hummels, Marco Reus and Neven Subotic.

After reports linking some of Dortmund's finest talent with a move to Merseyside, Klopp was quick to suggest that he had no intention of signing players from his former employers.

However, Collymore isn't so sure, claiming that the enigmatic coach could already be 'sounding out one or two'.

The ex-Liverpool man wrote: "Liverpool have got the big name gaffer, now it’s time for him to have the money and ability to go for Hummels, Reus, Subotic etc.

"It’s been reported he’s too respectful, too in love with Dortmund to make a raid on his former employer but that’s nonsense, a great manager wants great players today and tomorrow, and romanticism will give way to pragmatism when he sees the size of the job in hand but also its potential – so expect some behind the scenes calls already sounding out one or two."

Ultimately, it wouldn't exactly come as a surprise if Klopp swooped for some of the leading players in the Bundesliga.

At the end of the day, the likes of Hummels, Reus and Co. would improve the Reds in their pursuit of success. It's unlikely that Klopp won't want at least a couple of his former stars alongside him once again.

The revered manager may yet surprise us in terms of additions over the coming months and years, but surely he will bring one high profile Dortmund star to Anfield in the near future.
