"We called 911, and the 911 told my staff what to do: turn him over on his left side," Hof told NBC News.

"There was this terrible foaming stuff coming out of him. He was throwing up, a little bit of blood."

While Odom's condition is constantly changing, at this point, according to a TMZ report, he is in a critical condition and requires the assistance of machines to help him breathe.

The same TMZ report also notes that, as of 11 PM PT Tuesday evening, the former Sixth Man of the Year is having "serious problems" with both his kidneys and his lungs.

Former teammates and current stars of the NBA have been quick to send public messages of support to Odom and his family.

The likes of Dwyane Wade, a former teammate in Miami, and Paul Pierce are amongst those who have posted messages on social media:

Odom's ex-wife, Khloe Kardashian is also said to have travelled, alongside her sister Kim, to be at his bedside in hospital.
