Jurgen Klopp has received a major boost ahead of his first game as Liverpool manager after it was revealed his assistant Zeljko Buvac will be in place for the trip to Tottenham.

The Bosnian coach had been sweating over work permit issues but, according to the Telegraph, he flew into Merseyside this morning ahead of Thursday afternoon's training session.

Klopp and Peter Krawietz, his other senior coach, had been working with the available members of Liverpool's squad since Monday and the remaining international stars are slowly filtering back to Melwood.

The arrival is vital to Klopp, as the trio worked together at Mainz and Borussia Dortmund, and the new Anfield boss refers to Buvac as his “brain”.

His influence is sure to be felt in the build-up to their trip to White Hart Lane and his inclusion is will give the Reds a better chance of taking all three points away from London.

Klopp has arrived on Merseyside with a glowing reputation following a highly successful spell at the Westfalenstadion.

However, he can take nothing for granted at Anfield, and taking Liverpool back into the top four could prove to be the toughest challenge in his managerial career.

The Reds sit tenth in the Premier League, three points behind the top four, with tough fixtures against Chelsea and Manchester City on the horizon.

Despite all the positivity off the field, poor results could instantly pile the pressure on the 48-year-old.

With the current crop of attacking talent on display in the north-west, though, it is an exciting time to be a Liverpool fan.
