Football News

Sports fans, a very good day to you all.

It’s the middle of the week, and though it might not seem like there’s much going on regarding the NFL and NBA, there’s plenty of news doing the rounds.

Read on below for all the latest headlines, watch the video above for a visual offering and leave thoughts and/or comments in the box provided.

Odom fighting for his life

The sporting world woke up in shock to reports that Lamar Odom, formerly of the Los Angeles Lakers, was found unconscious with a mucus-coloured substance leaking from his nose and mouth.

The NBA free agent is currently in a coma, with machines assisting his breathing, and the general consensus is that his condition remains critical.

Unable to airlift him because of his 6ft 10 frame, he was taken via ambulance by medics to a Las Vegas hospital, where he is having serious problems with his heart, lungs and kidney. Hopefully more on that as it comes through.

Bosh advice

In lighter news, Miami Heat star Chris Bosh offered some advice to LaMarcus Aldridge before the Heat’s clash with the San Antonio Spurs.

Speaking to the Sun Sentinel, Bosh tried his best to lend his help to Aldridge. Giving the growing pains he’s had at certain points in his career, it’s probably a good idea that the Spurs man takes note.

Fells woe

Across to the NFL, and the bad news returns. It’s claimed Daniel Fells of the New York Giants has probably played his last ever professional football game, with his battle with MRSA not going well.

Fell has already had five surgeries on his foot and while reports suggesting he’d lost part of it to amputation are thought to be false, there’s more work yet to be done.

Cassel the quarterback

Lastly, the Dallas Cowboys will start Matt Cassel at quarterback against the New York Giants in Week 7, with the decision supposedly having already been made to bench Brandon Weeden.

Tony Romo went down in Week 2 with a broken collarbone and since then there’s been chopping and changing as the Cowboys attempt to make do without him.
