Barcelona have joined Arsenal and Manchester United in the race for Turkish midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.

The Bayer Leverkusen player's stunning performances in the Bundesliga have attracted interest from the Gunners and Red Devils, but it now appears the Blaugrana are interested in taking him to the Camp Nou, according to talkSPORT.

The radio station cite reports from Calhanoglu's home nation, therefore the Emirates and Old Trafford clubs will have to move fast if they want to stave off competition from the Champions League holders.

Barca have already shown their desire to bring in new players sooner rather than later, with Aymeric Laporte reportedly agreeing a £35 million move from Athletic Bilbao next summer.

And Calhanoglu, who has been dubbed the 'new Mesut Ozil', could be the perfect solution to their growing midfield concerns.

Reports surfaced earlier this month that United were eyeing up a move for the 21-year-old, while Arsenal have been linked with the free-kick specialist for some time.

His dead-ball prowess has made him one of the most talked about players in German football and he played a prominent role in helping Turkey to the play-off round of Euro 2016 qualification.

At such a young age, Calhanoglu will only get better and he is more than capable of plying his trade with the likes of Lionel Messi and co.

Once Barca come calling, they often get what they want, so Arsenal and United may need to act fast before the possibility disappears.

With the Catalan outfit expected to be busy in the January market, the Premier League clubs must be prepared to offer mega money in order to blow their Spanish competitors out of the water.
