The WWE is currently in a bit of a bad situation and it can all be traced back to the start of the new NFL season six weeks ago.

RAW and Smackdown have both seen their ratings decline since the NFL came back and the WWE are reportedly trying to change that.

Desperate times

With spoilers being posted on line on a weekly basis, the WWE's weekly taped show is often not worth watching for some fans.

It is obvious that something needs to change for Smackdown if it is ever going to improve, but one of the show's announcers may have hinted at the solution.

WWE Hall of Famer Jerry 'The King' Lawler was moved to the show several months ago and already some fans are missing his commentary from the flagship show of RAW.

When recently speaking about the future of Smackdown though, he made a very interesting prediction for Smackdown.

"It’s a very good possibility that in the near future, Smackdown may be live.” - Lawler on the future of Smackdown

There are already some big changes in the future for the show as they are currently preparing for a change of network next year.

It will be joining RAW on the USA Network and we are expecting the show to become a lot higher quality once it moves.

However the fundamental problem of the show being recorded is a big issue that will continue to hinder the show until Lawler's hint comes true.

Lack of caring?

Smackdown has been reportedly forgotten by the WWE creative team with stars like John Cena and the Authority very rarely making an appearance on the show any more.

Until some of the biggest names start to make appearances on the show, can it really be considered a must see?
