Chelsea midfielder Willian 'is at a level just behind Neymar', according to former Brazil international Juninho.

Juninho has hailed his compatriot, claiming that he deserves to be treated as a top player for the national side.

While Neymar often hogs the headlines in Brazil, Juninho clearly believes that the dynamic Chelsea ace deserves greater recognition for his performances on the pitch.

In fact, Willian put in an inspired performance for his country in their recent 3-1 home win over Venezuela in World Cup qualifying. The wide-man struck twice for Dunga's side, who were without talisman Neymar for the showdown.

In fact, despite Chelsea's struggle under the guidance of Jose Mourinho this season, the 27-year-old has been one of the club's standout performers of the campaign.

Juninho certainly rates the Blues ace, as he told Globo Esporte, as per Eurosport: “William is at a level just behind Neymar. It deserves to be analysed and treated as such.

“Willian deserves greater prominence. As a commentator I feel obliged to value it.”

Key man

For both club and country, Willian's importance to the cause cannot be underestimated. With a great deal of creativity and an eye for goal, the attacking star has the ability to help Chelsea climb the Premier League table sooner rather than later.

With domestic fixtures against the likes of Aston Villa, West Ham and Liverpool on the horizon, the classy forward will be desperate to continue his good run of form to help his club bounce back after a dismal opening period to the season.

If Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa follow his lead, the Blues will get back on track in no time.
