Kansas City Chiefs fans call for Tim Tebow

Football News

It has quickly turned into a nightmare of a season for the Kansas City Chiefs as they are currently 1-5 and are on a five game losing streak.

As if that wasn't bad enough, they have lost star runningback Jamaal Charles for the season and it is fair to say, the fans have had enough.

Tebow time in Kansas?

Five straight losses and seemingly no ideas on offense have led to the Chiefs fans calling for the head of their starting quarterback Alex Smith.

Is Tim Tebow the man to bring success to Kansas City? Have your say by signing up now to become a GMS writer:

Losing a star like Charles was going to be a hit for any team but with Smith still struggling despite having receivers like Travis Kelce and Jeremy Maclin appears to be the final straw.

Fans are now calling for a big decision to be made and they have already found their messiah - pardon the pun, to save their season.

He was a popular figure in Denver, failed in New York but failed to even make it into the season with the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles, Tim Tebow could now be heading to Arrowhead stadium.

Smith once again failed to lead the Chiefs to victory on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings and many fans took to Twitter to call for the cult figure of Tebow.

With some claiming they would rather have the ghost of Ryan Leaf over Smith and others simply asking the team to bring Tebow in, the Chiefs fans have shown their displeasure.

Tebow hasn't had the most successful of NFL Careers but he is regarded as one of the best free agent quarterbacks by many fans.

Not long to recover

The Chiefs are on a bad run of form and currently find themselves tied with three other teams on the worst record in the NFL.

Kansas barely have time to recover from the damaging defeat to Minnesota as they now prepare for a tough match against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It could even get worse for the Chiefs as rumours are that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger could be in line for a return on Sunday.
