Football News

After a difficult rookie season and an offseason spent in rehab, Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel had done a good job of keeping the headlines to the football field in 2015.

Until last week that is, when police responded to a roadside incident involving the NFL quarterback and his girlfriend in which Manziel admitted to having consumed two alcoholic beverages before getting in a row with Colleen Crowley.

Considering his recent past, there has been much debate about the incident despite authorities deeming the second-year star not to have been intoxicated. But now fans can judge for themselves who was in the wrong after police released dash-cam footage and audio from the incident.

The footage, via WEWS News Channel 5, shows both Manziel and Crowley giving their sides of the story to officers:

Considering there are many people looking to condemn Manziel, the young quarterback actually appears to have reacted sensibly when answering the officers' questions, attempting to defuse the situation.

The footage also reveals just what started the argument that led to Crowley calling police as Manziel describes how his girlfriend reacted angrily to the idea of him going to hang out with a friend.

Crowley, meanwhile, told officers that Manziel had "hit her a couple of times."

Authorities have since stated that her only visible injury was a graze on her forearm, but obviously the accusation is a serious one.

Also making a surprise appearance at the roadside is Browns linebacker Paul Kruger, and his less than favorable remarks regarding Manziel's girlfriend.

No charges have been filed and Manziel was not disciplined by the Browns themselves. The NFL have, however, initiated their own investigation today.
