Lucio urges Philippe Coutinho to reject Barcelona move

Liverpool fans will be glad to know that they’re not the only ones rooting for Philippe Coutinho to stay at Anfield, with Brazilian legend Lucio having said that his compatriot shouldn’t join Barcelona. Coutinho’s been linked with a move to the Nou Camp as a result of his brilliant form on Merseyside, and with the departures of Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling, Liverpool are looking increasingly like a club ready to sell big players in the money is right. However, Lucio said a move to Barca could turn Coutinho into a bit-part entity who simply fills in where he’s needed. We’re inclined to agree. In other news Jurgen Klopp is said to be considering recalling Lazar Markovic from Fenerbahce in the summer as he is an admirer of the winger. The Serbian was farmed out on loan by Brendan Rodgers, but might have better fortune under Klopp.
