Jurgen Klopp has asked Liverpool fans to believe in their team in order to “achieve great things” over the next few years.

Liverpool posted a tweet on Thursday afternoon, with the following message from their new manager: “I ask that you believe in this team and believe that together we can achieve great things.”

Klopp’s message went out just hours before his first home match in charge of the Reds, against Rubin Kazan in the Europa League group stages.

Victory over Rubin Kazan would also set Liverpool up nicely for their next Premier League fixture against Southampton on Sunday afternoon.

The question is: will he be capable of delivering?
