Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has insisted that he's 'very happy' at the club despite reports linking him with a move to the Premier League.

As reported by talkSPORT, the Germany international has revoked suggestions that he could depart the Bundesliga outfit in the near future, instead hinting that he's ready to stay on at the club past the end of the season.

Gundogan was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer transfer window, yet a move to Old Trafford failed to materialise.

The impressive midfielder went on to sign a new deal with BVB, but that hasn't stopped rumours linking him with a future move to United or Liverpool.

It appears, though, that he's quite content where he is, as he told reporters: "This is an issue that is always floating around. I am very happy with BVB and feel very comfortable here.

"Of course, I can imagine remaining here beyond the end of the season."

It's not surprising

As soon as Jurgen Klopp took the top job at Liverpool, Gundogan was always going to be linked with a move to Anfield. Let's be honest, he would prove a remarkable signing for Klopp in his pursuit of success on English soil, but it's not going to be easy for him to secure his compatriot's signature.

Gundogan is one of the most highly sought-after midfielders in European football, so certainly wouldn't come cheap for the Reds. The prospect of featuring under Klopp again, though, could feasibly excite the dynamic star.
