Liverpool fan slams Adam Lallana after Rubin Kazan draw

A Liverpool fan tore into Adam Lallana after the 1-1 draw with Rubin Kazan on Thursday night, calling the England international “sh*te” in his post-match rant outside Anfield.

Speaking to The Redmen TV, Owen said of Lallana: “Nah, too many step-overs for me. He does too many step-overs then does f*ck all.” (Scroll down to see the video).

Owen’s rant, however, didn’t seem to go down well with the Liverpool supporters who lambasted their fellow fan in the comments section. The video has also received 188 thumbs down, compared to just 50 thumbs up, at the time of writing.

“Not Lallana's biggest fan, but he was boss tonight, this lad is clueless,” wrote one fan in the comments.

While another posted: “Lallana was our second best player today behind Sakho. He was all over the place. This guy is clueless. For the sake of your viewers, please stop interviewing him.”

Lallana has flattered to deceive at Liverpool

Owen does appear to have been a little harsh on Lallana - the Daily Mail rated the playmaker 8/10 for his performance against the Russian Premier League side - but all fans are entitled to their own opinions.

Perhaps Owen’s judgement was clouded by the fact Lallana has flattered to deceive since completing his £25 million move from Southampton in July 2014.

A combination of injuries and poor performances mean Lallana has struggled at Anfield since his big-money move, but looks hungry to impress his new manager, Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp can bring the best out of Lallana

The German coach will be acutely aware that he has a very dangerous player in Lallana, who should be approaching the peak years of his professional career.

Give it a few more weeks and perhaps Owen will have changed his tune.
