San Francisco 49ers fans want Jared Goff to replace Colin Kaepernick

Football News

The San Francisco 49ers have made a truly awful start to the 2015 NFL season.

The Niners find themselves languishing with a 2-5 record after last night's crushing defeat to their bitter rivals, the Seattle Seahawks. They've made a poor start to life under new head coach Jim Tomsula, who was always going to fail to recreate Jim Harbaugh's impressive record at the helm of the 49ers.

Kaep Struggling

One player who has struggled massively so far this season is Colin Kaepernick, and the highly paid quarterback was poor again in the loss to the Seahawks.

Kaepernick completed just 13 of his 24 passes all game at Levi's Stadium, throwing for a wholly uninspiring 134 yards and zero touchdowns as San Francisco succumbed to a 20-3 loss in the NFC West divisional game.

Kaepernick's poor play - and that of his offensive line and receivers - lead to jeers from the crowd as they failed to mount any semblance of a comeback on Thursday Night Football.

Fans Want Goff

Some fans have gone even further, however, with some supporters calling on the team to ditch Kaepernick and draft top QB prospect Jared Goff to try and turn the team's fortunes around.

Goff has been having an exceptional season as starting quarterback of the Cal Golden Bears, putting up impressive numbers and showing very desirable traits to the hordes of NFL scouts that watch him every game.

Goff is the best quarterback talent available in the 2016 Draft and is expected by many to go with the number one overall pick. Judging by last night's performance, the 49ers could be in with a good shout of landing that first selection.
