Football News

Chelsea fans, welcome to the last round-up of the week.

We’ll confess we’re just as ready to embrace the weekend as you are, but before we do so there’s some breaking news to relay for your enjoyment.

Below is the latest information we could find on your club. Pretty please take the time to read it, perhaps watch the video above if you want the news presented to you and leave thoughts and opinions in the comments box below.

De Bruyne and Mourinho

Given the fact that Kevin De Bruyne has started his Manchester City career almost perfectly, there are a good many Chelsea fans who have reason to be wondering why on earth he was ever allowed to leave Stamford Bridge.

Well, new information appears to have surfaced, and if you’re one of those aforesaid fans you can no longer blame Jose Mourinho.

Journalist Kristof Terreur has claimed on Twitter that Mourinho pleaded with his board not to sell De Bruyne, but the player himself pushed for an exit.

One has to wonder why Mourinho didn’t give him a chance if he wanted to keep him.

Lucio's Oscar warning

Meanwhile, Brazil legend Lucio has warned Oscar he needs to adapt his game if he’s to succeed at Chelsea, with the playmaker enduring an indifferent campaign thus far.

Lucio said his compatriot’s form was just a matter of having to change his style of play. Whether he can or not remains to be seen.

Courtois' return

To finish off, Thibaut Courtois has taken to Instagram to prove that he’s well on the road to recovery. The Belgian stopper has been out of action since September but could return faster than was initially expected.

Courtois posted two videos to his Instagram showing him in rehabilitation. It’s safe to say he’s some way off a comeback yet, but it’s good news nonetheless.
