Football News

If there is one thing Arsene Wenger knows how to do, it is spot a talented youngster. During his 19-year reign at Arsenal the Frenchman has located, developed and then sold a number of top young prospects.

But no one has a perfect record and sometimes, no matter how much nurturing, a youngster's talent fails to transcend into adulthood. Two perfect examples have just come together in a beautifully tinted Instagram post.

Emmanuel Frimpong and Nicklas Bendtner are two footballers who epitomise Wenger's trophy-less years. Both showed so much promise but ultimately failed to deliver.

Neither experienced much success at the Emirates and have since moved on in search of greener pastures.

Frimpong now plies his trade for Russian Premier League outfit FC Ufa while Bendtner is still searching for his inner superstar at Bundesliga outfit VfL Wolfsburg.

But despite the great distance between them they still find time to talk about the good old days they shared in north London.

The one-cap Ghanaian wonder treated his 205,000 Instagram followers to the photo, accompanied with the caption: "With the Lord @bendtner3 😂😂😂 🔥🔥🔥👑"

Sarcastic comments

It has generated 4,900 likes at the time of writing and has over 100 sarcastic comments from people who are most probably Arsenal fans.

For example, a fine chap calling himself 'owen.has.piles' said: "too many legends in one pic", while 'kashuals' eloquently stated: "loooooool. For real though, two Arsenal flops 😂😂😂".

But we are not here to hate, we are here to celebrate. They may not have reaped all that they could have from their opportunity with the Gunners but at least they found a friendship that will last forever.

Here it is
