Chelsea fans angry with Nemanja Matic after red card v West Ham

Football News

Chelsea supporters are furious with Nemanja Matic after he was sent off minutes before half-time against West Ham this afternoon.

The Serbia international picked up two yellow cards within the space of 10 minutes, to leave 10-man Chelsea with an uphill battle heading into the second half.

It was imperative that Chelsea kept all ten players on the pitch heading into the second 45 minutes, but Matic’s moment of madness may have cost the Blues - and Jose Mourinho - dear.

Mourinho under huge pressure

It’s going to require something special for Mourinho to turn things around at Upton Park in the second half.

If the Portuguese coach fails then the speculation over his future at Stamford Bridge will intensify - dramatically.

Not only that, but some Chelsea fans may also begin to turn on Mourinho - a scenario that seems incomprehensible only a matter of weeks ago.
