Angel di Maria was a very happy man when he finally weaseled his way out of Old Trafford. He hated life at Manchester United and was delighted to join the South American contingent at Paris Saint-Germain.

His terrible form for the Red Devils was believed to be because he was struggling with his personal affairs. Now he had finally sealed his dream move to the French capital, the pressure to rekindle the form he showed at Real Madrid was on.

Similar to his career with United, Di Maria started life at Parc des Princes like a house on fire. He scored three goals and assisted three more in his first six games for the club, but has failed to create or score anything in his subsequent five.

Now the French press is starting to notice with L'Equipe dedicating their front page on Sunday morning to Di Maria's struggle to adapt to Laurent Blanc's system.

Under the headline 'When will it click?', the French paper questions whether the Argentina international is still the same player that inspired Real Madrid to La Decima.

Many believe he was the unsung hero of that Los Blancos team, but his disastrous season at Manchester United may have had a lasting effect on his ability to make an impact.

In the article, the writer, Damien Degorre, suggests that after a good start, Di Maria “now seems a little less comfortable, a little more out of adjustment, a little less effective, a little more isolated”.

It is worth mentioning that it also claims that the 27-year-old is very much loving life in Paris and his struggles remain solely on the pitch.

Regardless, a number of Manchester United fans have revelled in the news. Here are some of the best tweets:
