Manchester United fans have called on Louis van Gaal to drop Wayne Rooney after he failed to inspire his team against local rivals Manchester City.

He may be their captain and probably one of their best ever players, but his lack of form has convinced many of Manchester United's fanbase that he needs a spell on the sidelines.
