Alberto Del Rio returned to WWE as it is his only way to earn 'real money'

Hell in a Cell is in the books, and the WWE's October pay-per-view event threw up more than its fair share of dramatic moments.

From Roman Reigns' momentum building win to a blood-splattered Brock Lesnar and his victory over The Undertaker, not to mention the latter's involvement with The Wyatt Family - Sunday night's event had it all.

The most dramatic moment, though, was surely the return from WWE exile of Alberto Del Rio. And now, having seen off John Cena in double-quick time, details of the returning Superstar's new WWE deal have been revealed.

According to F4WOnline, via NoDq, the Mexican veteran's new WWE contract will see him work fewer dates than he did before being fired by the company last year.

The reduced role will also see Del Rio fulfil the independent dates he had been scheduled to make prior to his shocking HIAC appearance.

And it looks like the motivating factor behind the Superstar's comeback wasn't solely based on unfinished business in the WWE.

Per the same report, the financial rewards associated with a WWE contract played a big part in getting Del Rio back to the organization.

Indeed, having come to loggerheads with Lucha Underground - the infamous plane fiasco earlier this month a prime example - NoDq has described how "returning to WWE was his only option to making any kind of real money again."

Whatever the motivation for Del Rio's return, it is fair to say it has sent a shock wave through the WWE Universe.

Hopefully, even with a reduced schedule to come, the Latino star is able to build on the momentum gained last night and have a successful U.S. title run in the absence of John Cena.
