Christian Benteke unable to play for Liverpool tonight

Jurgen Klopp will have the pleasure of being able to pick a relatively strong side for when his side take on Bournemouth in the League Cup tonight, but one man who definitely won’t feature is Christian Benteke. The striker has been ruled out of the encounter with a knee ligament strain, meaning Klopp will have to turn to alternate options as he seeks to record his first victory as Liverpool boss. Perhaps Benteke sitting out will allow him time to recover in time to face Chelsea this Saturday. Meanwhile, Klopp has had his say on Roberto Firmino and fortunately believes signing the Brazilian was a good call from his predecessor. Firmino was purchased from Hoffenheim this summer and it looks as though Klopp is going to be using him moving forward.
