Which NXT stars should be next in line for a main roster move?

The big news which garnered a lot of attention last week was the arrival of Tyler Breeze from NXT to the main roster.

Many speculated he would answer John Cena’s United States open challenge and dethrone the champion, instead he debuted last week on SmackDown and targeted Dolph Ziggler.

His arrival brought a sense of excitement just like every NXT superstar or Diva that has come before him, and that excitement will continue as more and more NXT talents continue to make the jump to the main roster.

NXT continues to produce talent that can go on to make an impact on the main roster and it’s only a matter of time before more of the big names finally make the jump.

Some are more deserving than others, whilst some still need work and have a lot more to achieve on NXT, so here are the stars I believe should be next in line for a jump to the main roster.

This one is quite obvious and should be a lock by now. Sami Zayn received a great reaction when he answered Cena’s open challenge in Montreal and that’s a sign of big things to come if he’s booked correctly on the main roster.

The problem with any main roster move is that regardless of the talent of any individual, bad booking can hinder development and they won’t achieve what we expect them to achieve. The WWE need to make sure that Zayn moves up he’s able to perform in great feuds and there’s already one available which has the potential to be massive.

It’s something many fans are already fantasy booking, and a return at the Royal Rumble to take out Kevin Owens would be a fantastic way to set up a match between the pair at WrestleMania and a great introduction to the main roster.

He’s definitely the NXT star that deserves the call-up the most.

Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady have played a key role in making the NXT tag team division what it is today. They haven’t captured the NXT Tag Team Championships by now which is strange as they’re two of the finest stars on NXT and easily the most popular.

I feel that now the time is right to move up to the main roster and enter new feuds and showcase their talents on a massive stage. They’ve worked opposite a number of teams on NXT and with new teams emerging such as Jason Jordan and Chad Gable, chances won’t come easy.

There are some great feuds available on the main roster, and the thought of verbal battles between them and the New Day is something the WWE needs to make sure happens in the near future.

They have unique looks, they can work in the ring and they’ve paid their dues on NXT, it’s time for them to entertain fans of the main roster.

The third star I believe should be next to move up is the Lone Wolf, Baron Corbin. Fans will have their opinion on Corbin and how he still needs to improve a lot inside the ring and on the microphone, but I don’t think there’s much more he can do on NXT which will change their minds.

Capturing the NXT Championship from someone like Apollo Crews or Finn Balor will only anger the fans, so maybe he does need to move up and compete in the Intercontinental Championship picture.

In that sense, he wouldn’t be forced onto the fans and in reality he could be a massive heel on the main roster. He has a fantastic look which could be the key to his success and whether we want to believe it or not, he could be a massive attraction.
