Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants to bring Domenico Berardi to Anfield in the January transfer window.

As reported by The Sun, the Reds chief is ready to secure the services of the highly rated Sassuolo forward. Berardi, who is just 21-years-old, has already played in over 100 Serie A games, scoring 44 goals in the process.

It appears, then, that Liverpool, who have struggled in the attacking department throughout the course of the campaign, could press ahead with a bid in the coming months.

However, it won't be easy for the Merseyside outfit to secure the player's signature, with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona all linked with the attacker.

In fact, the same report goes on to claim that Juventus, who previously owned the talented striker, have a deal in place to bring the youngster back to Turin in the summer, but it appears that Liverpool could now beat them to it.

In desperate need

Klopp will be well aware that he must improve his side in attack sooner rather than later. The revered coach has seen his side score just three goals in his first four games in charge of the Anfield outfit.

With Danny Ings set to miss the remainder of the campaign, and the duo of Christian Benteke and Daniel Sturridge failing to maintain their fitness on a consistent basis, Divock Origi has had a key role to play recently, but has struggled to produce the goods in front of goal.

The signing of Berardi would no doubt come as a risk, but Klopp must take one or two if the club are going to climb the Premier League table.
