It is rumored that the WWE will be repackaging the tag team of Los Matadores.

The tag team, which consists of real-life cousins Diego/Primo and Fernando/Epico, have failed to connect with the WWE Universe since they made their gimmick debut over two years ago.

According to NoDQ: "The reason the Los Matadores are being kept off WWE television is because WWE wants you to forget about them. The plans is to eventually repackage them and bring them back at some point.

"At one point WWE was attempting to sign Carlito to the company and have him paired with the duo, however the former WWE Superstar rejected their low-ball offer."

The tag team hasn't appeared on WWE television or at any tapings since early September, and they have only been featured during live shows in Mexico over the past few weeks. They haven't won a match at any show, TV or live, since the end of August.

The last major angle they were in was the Fatal 4-Way tag match for the Tag Team Championships at SummerSlam earlier this year, which they lost. Since then, the Los Matadores have attempted to earn heat as a heel team, but they were unsuccessful.

It wouldn't be surprising if this rumor turns out to be true. They haven't received enough traction to get anywhere near the top of the division, especially since the emergence of The New Day and the arrival of The Dudley Boyz.

With the return of The Usos on the horizon, there is going to be no space for Los Matadores to fit in with their current gimmick. Diego and Fernando are good in-ring workers and will eventually find a gimmick that works for them again.

But for now, this is the right call by the WWE to repackage the tag team.
