Paul Scholes blames Van Gaal for poor Rooney form

Published 4 Comments

Ask most Manchester United fans and they’ll tell you there isn’t really much to complain about at Old Trafford this year - with the obvious exception of Wayne Rooney’s form in front of goal. There’s more than one theory as to why the United captain isn’t firing on all cylinders, but Paul Scholes is blaming Louis van Gaal himself. The former Old Trafford midfielder said that Van Gaal’s system would leave any striker tearing his hair out, even going as far as to hint that legends like Ruud van Nistelrooy and Andy Cole would have also failed in the Dutchman’s set-up. Elsewhere, Adnan Januzaj has a reputation for diving far too easily in matches but it seems the youngster is cleaning up his act. A video has emerged including footage from Borussia Dortmund’s recent hammering of German side Paderborn, and it shows Januzaj being tackled to the ground in the final third but doing his best to stay on his feet. We don’t want to say well done for not cheating, but, well done for not cheating.
