Cristiano Ronaldo has strategy in place to leave Real Madrid this summer - Guillem Balague

Celta Vigo v Real Madrid CF - La Liga

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has said Cristiano Ronaldo has a plan in place to leave Real Madrid next summer.

The former Manchester United man has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu for some time and the Sky Sports pundit believes PSG are in pole position to sign the Portuguese superstar.

Balague thinks that even though Ronaldo 'idolises' the Red Devils, the Old Trafford club are in a 'different place' now and would not splash the cash on the 30-year-old.

As per talkSPORT, he said:  “The strategy is in place from his people to leave this summer. If the money is there and Paris Saint-Germain are willing to pay it and Real Madrid feel it is the right time to let him go.

“He idolises Manchester United. The fans, the atmosphere and the club, but the club is in a different place now.

“Why would they spend €125million, plus playing him 20-odd million per year, why would they do that at this stage?

“PSG are willing to pay for him, he is happy to move on when he feels the time is right, but remember what happened at Manchester United, where he wanted to leave a year before he actually did, so if it’s not this summer it’ll be next summer.”

Balague's comments completely contradict the words of Ronaldo's friend and Sheffield Wednesday player Jose Semedo.

The midfielder believes Ronaldo will, in fact, return to England before his playing days are over.

In truth, the three-time Ballon d'Or winner is the only person who can put an end to the speculation over his future.

Madrid's all-time record goalscorer has previously stated he would like to retire at Los Blancos, but that decision lies with the club.

Ronaldo continues to score goals for fun and could set an unassailable record of goals in the Spanish capital.

He would be a great addition to the Premier League and Manchester United fans would surely welcome him back with open arms.

For now, he remains at Real Madrid and we can all sit and watch in amazement as he embarks on another stellar goalscoring campaign for the Bernabeu outfit.
