Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong couldn’t resist the opportunity to have a cheeky dig at Chelsea following the west London outfit’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday.

The 23-year-old, who is no stranger to causing mischief on Twitter, took to the social networking website shortly after the Blues slumped to their sixth Premier League defeat of the campaign at the weekend.

Simultaneously trolling both Jose Mourinho’s side and himself, Frimpong tweeted: “Chelsea trials in the morning!!!”

Frimpong is the forgotten man

Regardless of how bad Chelsea’s situation becomes, it’s safe to assume they won’t be approaching Frimpong to discuss a potential move to Stamford Bridge.

The one-time Ghana international, now 23, is currently plying his trade for FC Ufa, who currently sit 14th - out of 16 - in the Russian Premier League table.

Chelsea's crisis set to continue this week?

However, Chelsea’s current crisis is now a major concern for the hierarchy at the Bridge, including owner Roman Abramovich.

The Blues are languishing in 15th position in the Premier League table after 11 matches played - four points outside of the relegation zone - and speculation is rife that Mourinho could lose his job before the international break.

Up next for Chelsea is Wednesday night’s Champions League clash against Dynamo Kiev, before a difficult trip to Stoke City on Saturday evening.
