Lucas Leiva: Jurgen Klopp speech inspired Liverpool to victory over Chelsea

Published Add your comment

By all accounts Lucas Leiva was lucky to stay on the pitch during Liverpool’s win over Chelsea this weekend, but the Brazilian has heralded Jurgen Klopp instead of focusing on the potential mistake that could have cost his side the game. Lucas told how Klopp delivered an inspiring speech concerning conceding goals that motivated his team to stay upbeat despite having gone a goal down thanks to an early Ramires header. Philippe Coutinho bagged himself a classy brace and Christian Benteke rounded off the scoring to ensure Reds fans went home happy. Elsewhere, the shoe was on the other foot with Mourinho, who apparently didn’t even talk to his players after the game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Ramires has revealed that the manager didn’t say anything because he didn’t think it was the right time to do so. Contrasting fortunes, that’s for sure.
