We understand that isn’t really pragmatic for most of you, but in any event we’re going to give you the news anyway. Read on below for more.

Ronaldo wanted move

If you’re an avid Arsenal fan there’s every chance you’ll know the tale of the time Cristiano Ronaldo almost signed for you in 2003.

Well, if you’re one of those that still gets nightmares over losing out on the Portuguese superstar look away now, because new information has been released that definitely rubs salt in the wounds.

The player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has revealed that he thought Ronaldo was going to sign for Arsenal, with it also said that the Real Madrid forward wanted a north London switch.

“There was a time when I really thought he was going to Arsenal,” Mendes said, as per Guillem Balague - writing for the Daily Telegraph.

It gets worse, as Arsene Wenger had even put the number nine shirt aside for him.

Great stat for Arsenal

Moving on, one stat that will restore Arsenal supporters’ faith is the one that sees Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla having made the same amount of chances as the Manchester United team as a whole this term.

That’s right, the crafty pair have levelled the Red Devils’ 81 chances made. Wenger’s philosophy is obviously paying dividends.

Paulista: Arsenal must be 'intelligent'

Lastly, Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista has revealed what he thinks Arsenal need to do if they’re to get a result against Bayern Munich in the Champions League this week.

Arsenal won the first encounter between the two sides this term, but Paulista thinks he and his teammates must play ‘intelligent’ football if they’re to stand any chance of keeping their qualification hopes alive by securing a positive result.
