Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus has named current Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky as his favourite player in history.

Rosicky, who spent five years with BVB and won the Bundesliga in 2002, was a huge idol at the Westfalenstadion - and it seems fans, like Reus, still hold the Czech Republic international in high regard.

Reus, one of the most sought-after players in world football, revealed his admiration for Rosicky in a question-and-answer session with UEFA earlier this afternoon.

The Germany international also revealed that Manuel Neuer is the best goalkeeper he had ever faced - no surprise there - and that the in-form Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the funniest player in the Dortmund dressing room.

But it’s his admiration for Rosicky that will interest the supporters of Arsenal, who were linked with the 26-year-old during the summer.

Maybe Wenger kept Rosicky to attract Reus...

Perhaps that was one of the reasons why Arsene Wenger agreed to extend the midfielder’s contract for another season.

Rosicky has not made a single appearance for Arsenal so far this term after undergoing an operation on his knee in the summer and it would come as no great surprise to fans if he doesn’t feature until January at the earliest.

The truth is, Rosicky was fortunate to earn a new one-year deal at the Emirates Stadium and probably should have been moved on over the summer.

However, if Reus is open to leaving Dortmund at the end of the season and decides to ask Rosicky about the possibility of joining Arsenal, it’s safe to assume he will only hear positive things from his 35-year-old idol.
