Paul Scholes slams Ashley Young dive as 'embarrassing'

Published 1 Comments

It’s rather difficult to keep Paul Scholes quiet these days, but fans will certainly have a strong opinion on the most recent problem he’s flagged up concerning Manchester United. Scholes said Ashley Young’s dive during last night’s Champions League meet with CSKA Moscow was ‘embarrassing’, with the England international having taken a tumble in a bid to win his side a penalty prior to Wayne Rooney’s 79th minute winner. Young has been routinely lambasted by people who believe he is a serial diver, and Scholes questioned why he was doing it as - in his words - he’s a really good player. Meanwhile, prodigal forward Anthony Martial last night took to Instagram to express his disappointment at his own performance against Moscow. The Frenchman was substituted for Marouane Fellaini in the second-half - a decision that was made to a chorus of boos aimed at Van Gaal - and posted a picture with a caption intended to relay his struggles.
