Speculation surrounding Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been further fuelled following reports, as per BILD, that Barcelona's sporting director was in attendance of the Bundesliga side's 3-1 victory over Werder Bremen on Saturday.
Such rumours come a week after Aubameyang himself said his next destination would be Spain once he leaves Germany, quelling rumors linking him to the Premier League.
The 26-year-old striker has been on fire this season, scoring 13 Bundesliga goals already, equal atop of the league's goalscoring charts with the similarly prolific Robert Lewandowski, hailed as one of the world's best strikers.

The Gabonese forward recently broke the Bundesliga record for goals scored in consecutive matches, scoring seven on the bounce. His outstanding form has helped Dortmund to second place in the league table and earned the 26-year-old huge plaudits.
Aubameyang began his footballing career at AC Milan, but never made an appearance for the Italian side during his three-year stay at the club. Instead, he was loaned to France with multiple teams, first with Dijon before spells with Lille, Monaco and finally Saint-Etienne, for whom Aubameyang scored ten goals.
He signed a permanent deal for the Ligue 1 side in 2011 and went on to score 31 in 62 appearances for the club, becoming the league's top scorer in the 2012/13 season.
His steller performances eventually lead to a move to 2013 Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund. He enjoyed a fruitful debut campaign, finding the net 16 times and proving himself a suitable replacement for Lewandowski, who departed the club at the end of the season for rivals Bayern Munich.
This season, however, Aubameyang has reached new heights having scored 20 goals in only 17 outings for Dortmund, becoming one of the hottest strikers in Europe.
As a result of such scintillating form, Barcelona are rumoured to be interested in signing the pacey forward.
After losing Pedro to Chelsea in the summer and the talismanic Lionel Messi to injury, the Catalans are currently on the look out for attacking reinforcements.
It is no wonder, then, that the European champions are interested in acquiring his services. Aubameyang's ruthless eye for goal and trademark pace is the perfect combination of talents for a Barcelona forward.
