Chelsea fans have hailed Willian on Twitter after the Brazilian winger produced the cross which led to Dynamo Kiev defender Aleksandar Dragovic’s own goal.

The 27-year-old stood up his marker, took one touch with the outside of his right foot and outsprinted his opponent before whipping in a cross which was turned into his own net by the unfortunate Dragovic.

It was a huge goal for Chelsea and their under-fire manager Jose Mourinho, who opted to drop Eden Hazard and Pedro before the match.

Other Chelsea players need to step up

Willian arrived at Stamford Bridge in a £30 million deal from Anzhi Makhachkala in the summer of 2013, but Chelsea fans had only seen glimpses of the Brazil international’s best form prior to this campaign.

If Chelsea are to salvage something from their season - and if Mourinho is to keep his job - more players in the Blues’ squad need to follow Willian’s lead and start producing the goods.
