Love him or hate him, it’s probably not good for Chelsea that Jose Mourinho won’t be able to manage from the touchline this weekend when the Blues take on Stoke City. The Special One is banned from his usual duties on matchday as punishment for his behaviour during the loss to West Ham earlier this season, but, somewhat unsurprisingly, he has a plan. It’s not sneaking into the stadium in a laundry basket, before anyone asks - this time around it’s far simpler. He’ll keep in touch with coaches from a position in the team hotel via his mobile phone, according to reports. You just can’t stop Mourinho. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo has offered his backing to the Special One, claiming that he is the right man to save Chelsea’s ailing campaign. The Ronaldo/Mourinho partnership was very much a clash of egos in Madrid, but there’s obviously a lot of mutual respect between them.
