Johnny Manziel, to the surprise of many people, actually put in a relatively error-free performance at quarterback for the Cleveland Browns on Thursday Night Football.
And, despite ending up on the losing side for the third time in four starts, the sight of the former Texas A&M star finally showing some NFL potential didn't escape the attention of a lot of Dallas Cowboys fans.
What could have been
With the 'Boys in the midst of a quarterback conundrum sans Tony Romo, and their interest in Manziel during the 2014 draft well documented, fans of the Texas franchise used Twitter to let Jerry Jones know how he should have acted back in May '14.

Some of the examples during, and after the Browns - Bengals game included:
The Cowboys owner himself, speaking on Dallas radio show 105.3 The Fan today, admitted that he thought about drafting Manziel in 2014 only to decide against it because he felt Romo could stay healthy for another five years.
Obviously with Romo having been out since week three with a broken collarbone, leaving the Cowboys to rely on Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel, his prediction hasn't quite panned out.
Rose tinted glasses
But for fans to lament the team's decision to bypass Manziel - a player who, until last night, had looked far from capable of making the step up to the pros - is unfair.
For one thing, Dallas used their first round pick in 2014 on Zack Martin, the Notre Dame guard going on to make the Pro Bowl in his rookie year as part of a dominant offensive line.
Romo isn't going to be out forever. If they'd taken on Johnny Football for the backup role, they would have had to put up with the media circus that surrounds the second-year quarterback for the sake of what looks to be seven Tony Romo-less games.
There is no guarantee those games would have ended any differently with Manziel under center.
