Phil Jones was touted as a future leader at Manchester United by retired manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Having joined the Red Devils in 2011 from Blackburn Rovers, the England international has failed to hold down a regular place in the starting line-up at Old Trafford.

A series of injuries have halted his progress and having played in midfield, at full-back and in the centre of defence, the question has often been asked: What is his best position?

Well, it appears the 23-year-old has now found a new position at the club, one that delighted some United fans on a tour of Old Trafford.

During the same tour that produced Bastian Schweinsteiger's trolling of Chris Smalling, Jones took it upon himself to dress up as the janitor at Manchester United.

Fans in attendance took to Twitter to express their delight at the hilarious moment, with one supporter tweeting: "You were hilarious @PhilJones4 @ManUtd @ChevroletFC".

Another Tweeted a photo of Jones with the caption: "Gotta be one of the funniest moments today..."

Following Smalling's meteoric rise to prominence under Louis van Gaal, many United fans have been hoping Jones could follow suit.

Having recovered from a blood clot in his leg, that kept him out of action at the start of the season, he has been in good form for the Red Devils.

The two England internationals appeared to be forming a strong partnership in the heart of the defence and conceded a solitary goal in three games against Everton, CSKA Moscow and Manchester City.

If Jones can keep clear of any more problems then there's no reason why he can't become a star.
