Outspoken celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan blasted the performances of Olivier Giroud and Joel Campbell during Sunday afternoon’s 1-1 draw with local rivals Tottenham.

The broadcaster couldn’t control his anger after Spurs went 1-0 ahead at the Emirates Stadium and took out his frustration, via Twitter, on the Gunners’ duo.

“From Henry & Bergkamp to Giroud & Campbell,” Morgan tweeted, “Jeez. #afc”

The presenter of ITV breakfast show Good Morning Britain also described Giroud as a “pathetic drama queen” after his altercation with Jan Vertonghen, and suggested the France international should be tested for drugs - specifically Megadon or Ambien - because of his lacklustre display.

Giroud received a 4.5/10 rating from the Daily Mail - the joint-lowest rating alongside Per Mertesacker - while Joel Campbell didn’t fare much better, scoring a 6/10 rating.

Morgan: Arsenal needed Aguero!

Morgan reckons Arsenal could have won the North London derby had Sergio Aguero been upfront instead of the hapless Giroud.

“Aguero would have scored a hat-trick given Giroud's chances today,” he added. “That's the difference. #afc”

Arsenal are still up there...

Despite the draw, though, Arsenal remain joint-top of the Premier League table alongside Manchester City, who surprisingly failed to beat Aston Villa earlier on Sunday afternoon.

Giroud has scored six of his side’s 22 league goals this season and will be determined to make amends for his wasteful performance against West Brom after the international break.
