Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy has admitted he is considering his options after being told by France boss Didier Deschamps that he must be playing regularly in order to feature at next summer’s European Championships.
The 30-year-old, who completed a £12 million move to the Gunners from Newcastle United in the summer of 2014, is currently the second-choice right-back at the Emirates Stadium behind Hector Bellerin.
Debuchy has deputised in the absence of Bellerin, who is sidelined with a groin strain, but the Frenchman is acutely aware of where he currently stands in the Gunners’ pecking order - and is subsequently thinking about moving on when the transfer window re-opens in January.

“I am dealing with it,” Debuchy was quoted as saying by the Mirror following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham. “I am trying to stay strong. We are going to remain concentrated until December, after that I will see.”
The Mirror add that AS Roma are reportedly keen on the full-back - and the opportunity to establish himself as the Giallorossi’s first-choice right-back could prove too tempting to resist.
Roma move could be good for Debuchy
Roma currently sit third in the Serie A table but are the bookies’ favourites to win the Scudetto. Debuchy would give himself the best possible chance of starting for Les Blues at Euro 2016 if he moved to the Stadio Olimpico and helped Rudi Garcia’s men become champions of Italy.
The defender will be under no illusions that Bellerin has performed exceptionally well this season and won’t expect Arsene Wenger to drop the Spain Under-21 international unless he suffers a sudden and unexpected dip in form.
Wenger will ultimately decide Debuchy's fate
But because Debuchy signed a long-term contract with Arsenal last year, whether he stays or leaves in January will ultimately be a decision for Wenger.
