Former World Heavyweight Champion and Money in the Bank winner Jack Swagger has found himself back on TV and back in a title picture.

The Real American made a brief appearance with friend and former manager, Zeb Colter this past week on Raw. Colter hadn’t been seen since December of last year when he was attacked and injured backstage.

He made his return at Hell in a Cell backing a Superstar who was also making a return, Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio was fired last August after a physical altercation with a member of the social media team. It was a pleasant and unexpected surprise to see both Del Rio and Colter not only back but working together.

We Haven’t Seen Jack

Jack Swagger has seen only limited action this year and hasn’t been in any of the major story lines. His enthralling feud with Rusev was ultimately passed on to John Cena where we witnessed Cena capture the US title from Rusev.

Seeing Swagger on Raw or SmackDown had become a rare occurrence. You would see him jobbing for Wade Barrett or Cesaro, then you would spot him backstage or during a Lumberjack match. Swagger has talent and it’s good to see him not only getting air time, but setting up for what may become a title run.

In order to become champion, he’d have to defeat the man who was able to take the title from John Cena, Alberto Del Rio.

Real American vs. MexAmerican

Del Rio and Swagger have history. They’ve faced each other on numerous occasions including WrestleMania 29 where Del Rio emerged victorious, retaining his World Heavyweight title.

Del Rio has historically gotten the better of Swagger time and time again and I don’t see how that will be any different with Zeb Colter in his corner. Colter helped shape Swagger but the duo never struck gold together. In just one night, Colter and Del Rio took down Super Cena and struck gold.

Will Jack Swagger ignite the fire that once made him a champion, or are the MexAmericans too hot to handle? Tell us below!
