Wolfsburg defender Dante has insisted that a case of mistaken identity has seen him linked with a move to Chelsea.

As reported by the Daily Mail, the former Bayern Munich man, who only completed a move to Wolfsburg in the summer transfer window, claims he didn't know why people were calling him asking about the Premier League champions.

It was initially reported that the experienced defender said that moving to west London was his dream, but it was actually teenager Abdoul Dante who made the comments.

The player, who is the captain of Mali Under 17s, looks set for a bright future in the game, but still has some way to go before realising his dream.

One thing is for sure, Dante of Wolfsburg isn't interested in a move to Stamford Bridge, as he told reporters: "It's been difficult and confusing for me. I couldn't understand why people were calling me and asking about Chelsea.

"I only left Bayern in the summer, I've got a three-year contract with Wolfsburg so I've nothing to look for. I don't know the other Dante but it's his dream, not mine!"

Well, it appears that the signing of Dante is out of the question for the Blues, but Jose Mourinho must add to his squad in the January transfer window.

Currently sitting in 16th position in the Premier League, Chelsea have endured a torrid start to the season, so the Blues chief must change the dynamic of his squad sooner rather than later.

The likes of John Terry, Branislav Ivanovic and Co. have all failed to hit top form throughout the course of the campaign, so the self-proclaimed 'Special One' has some big decisions to make.
