There is no doubting Raphael Varane is a top-class central defender. At such a young age, he has managed to establish himself at arguably the biggest club in world football.

The Real Madrid star is a tank at the back and his ability on the ball is not too shabby either. But during a training session with the France national team, Varane showed everyone just how good he is with the ball at his feet.

Barcelona superstar Neymar sent Twitter into meltdown with his performance against Rayo Vallecano and his silky touch to bring down a cross-field ball gained a lot of attention. However, the Bernabeu centre-back proved the Brazilian is not the only player who can do it.

A video has been released on France Football Federation's official YouTube channel showing the 22-year-old bringing down the ball with a quite sumptuous touch.

Varane's next match for Madrid will be the Clasico tie with fierce rivals Barcelona.

It's fair to say the French defender and his teammates did not have the best of times against Sevilla as they fell to a 3-2 defeat.

It was clear to see the Spanish giants missed Keylor Navas, who has kept 10 clean sheets in 13 games this season, and it did not help that both Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale had an off day.

The Bernabeu club will certainly have to up their game if they are to claw back the three points they surrendered to Barcelona during the last round of fixtures.
