Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has revealed that he was impressed by the way the Old Trafford crowd received him after his failed move to Real Madrid.
The Spain international looked all but set to complete a summer move to the Santiago Bernabeu, but the transfer failed to materialise in the closing stages of the window.
De Gea, 25, had to watch on as Sergio Romero took his place between the sticks at the Theatre of Dreams during the early stages of the campaign. However, United's player of the season for the past two years has come to prominence once again in Manchester recently. It was back in mid-September when the top-class shot-stopper regained his place in the side for the clash against Liverpool, and he hasn't looked back ever since.

In fact, De Gea has insisted that he's happy at Manchester United and has insisted that he appreciates the support of the fans.
The 'keeper told ESPN: "I felt in that moment that to extend my contract was the best thing to do. I'm really happy now, at one of the biggest clubs in the world, where I feel loved by the fans.
"Nobody let me down or disappointed me -- these are things that happen. You must look forward, and I am very happy now.
"During the market anything can happen, it can all change inside a minute. Football is like that. There were difficult moments, strange moments, but they help you to mature. To be stronger.
"The first game I returned, after all that had happened, was impressive," he said. "The way Old Trafford received me, it made the hairs stand up. It's very difficult to describe what that day was like. I really appreciate it."
Huge role to play
As an attacking force, the Red Devils appear to be slightly behind their rivals, but De Gea and Co. really can inspire the club to Premier League title success this season.
Since returning to the United team, the excellent shot-stopper has managed five clean sheets from eight league games. Unsurprisingly, then, the Red Devils preserve the meanest defence in the Premier League.
De Gea has the ability to secure a number of points for United throughout the course of the season, so don't expect the Red Devils to be too far away from the summit of the division come May.
