Chelsea are ready to spend a cool £40 million on Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann, who could replace the hapless Radamel Falcao at Stamford Bridge.
This is according to The Sun, who understand Chelsea want to terminate Falcao’s £125,000-a-week loan deal early. The 29-year-old has scored one goal in 11 appearances for the Blues and could return to parent club AS Monaco within the coming weeks.
Griezmann is the man Jose Mourinho has identified as a potential replacement for the Colombian and the Express claim the France international would be interested in a move to the Premier League.

The 24-year-old has been outstanding in La Liga over the past three seasons - for both Atletico Madrid and his former employers Real Sociedad - and is subsequently one of the most sought-after forwards in world football.
Atletico have no desire to sell their best attacking player - Griezmann scored 25 goals in 54 appearances for the Colchoneros last season - and it would almost certainly take an even larger fee from Chelsea to tempt the Spanish club into selling.
Greizmann could win the Ballon d'Or one day
Griezmann, who hit the headlines on Saturday morning after it emerged that his sister had survived the terrorist attack at the Bataclan in Paris the previous night, has the ability to challenge the likes of Neymar, James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale for the Ballon d’Or once Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo being to decline over the next few years.
Griezmann may need to join a slightly bigger club
But in order to make that happen he may need to join, and this is no disrespect to Atletico Madrid, a slightly bigger club either in Spain or elsewhere in Europe.
Chelsea could offer him the platform he requires to go on and fulfil his immense potential - but plenty of other big clubs should be vying for Griezmann’s signature in 2016.
