Chelsea captain John Terry must have expected to receive his fair share of stick from Manchester United supporters after agreeing to play in Unicef’s ‘Match for Children’ at Old Trafford on Saturday.

But he probably didn’t expect to be mocked by the pre-match comedian.

Jack Whitehall had the job of announcing the teams prior to the match and he couldn’t resist taking a cheeky dig at the former England captain. (Scroll down this page to watch the video).

Going through the Great Britain and Ireland team, managed by Sir Alex Ferguson, Whitehall came out with this cracking line when he reached Terry’s name…

“Number 26, very kindly taking time out of Chelsea’s relegation battle, John Terry!”

John Terry was also nutmegged by Scholes...

Not only was poor old JT trolled by Jack Whitehall as he warmed up, but he was also nutmegged by Manchester United legend Paul Scholes. Click HERE to see that video.

However, Terry was on the winning side as Ferguson’s men recorded a 3-1 win over the Rest of the World, thanks to a brace from Michael Owen and a header from Scholes.

Doubt John Terry saw the funny side

Although the Old Trafford crowd saw the funny side of Whitehall’s comment, it’s unlikely that Terry will have raised a smile.

Times are serious at Chelsea right now, with Jose Mourinho and the players under significant pressure, after the team secured a pitiful 11 points from their opening 12 Premier League matches.

The Blues are languishing in 16th place in the Premier League table, three points outside of the relegation zone, and nothing less than three points against Norwich City after the international break will suffice for the west London outfit.
