Four candidates to replace Seth Rollins in The Authority

Regardless of what the WWE Universe feel towards him, Seth Rollins has played the role of The Authority’s champion perfectly.

A lot will say that Rollins picked up countless victories thanks to outside help and the truth is that at times it did hurt his credibility of being a solid champion.

However, that doesn’t mean he has been a poor champion as he has helped The Authority go over as massive heels ever since he aligned with him. Now that Rollins is out for nine months, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon should look to bring in another corporate champion. They need to remain active until Rollins returns at least and there are certain superstars who could easily slot into that role.

Cesaro continues to get a solid reaction as a face every single week and nobody actually knows what else he needs to do to get a bigger push. He definitely has the in-ring talent to be a WWE World Heavyweight Champion and he has a good look to succeed as well.

Considering he isn’t really getting anywhere as a face, perhaps a surprise heel turn would be good for his own development as a top star in the company.

It would be a big surprise for sure as he isn’t someone you’d think would ‘sell-out’, especially with all of the support behind him, but that’s what would make it more shocking. Not only to see him become the new champion but to align himself with The Authority as well.

It does make sense as he will have the perfect mouthpieces to potentially make him into a star, and it shows he would do anything to get the championship he’s more than capable of holding.

Kevin Owens is now the biggest active heel on the roster and having him align with The Authority would be fantastic for his own career. He has all the skills you need to be a top heel champion in the company and it’s no secret that Triple H is a fan of the current Intercontinental Champion.

Owens has made it clear on a number of occasions that he’s a prize-fighter and watching him sell-out wouldn’t be much of a huge surprise, and it would help us grow even more hatred for the unique superstar.

If that is to happen, the only question mark would be the future of the Intercontinental Championship, but booking-wise it would make sense. It would allow Owens to establish himself as a genuine World Championship material superstar and a match with a face Rollins down the line would be something to look forward to as well.

Sheamus seems like an obvious choice to go with as he’s pretty much guaranteed to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, plus we know he has a friendship with Triple H which could play a part in the two joining forces.

If Sheamus is to cash-in successfully then you’d assume he’s going to hold the title for quite some time and that would be great. It would make the fans boo The Celtic Warrior as they usually do, but a Rollins return would make the occasion so much more special.

He’s already an established heel on the roster and it would be good to see how Sheamus can compete as part of The Authority as well as the champion.

Just because Roman Reigns rejected the offer on Raw it doesn’t mean he still can’t join The Authority to get his hands on the ultimate prize, it just means a potential turn would be even more surprising.

I feel that a Reigns heel turn would be highly beneficial for his career and Reigns can definitely add a different dynamic to The Authority. Rollins was comfortable on the microphone whereas Reigns still needs some work so Triple H and Stephanie will be on hand to really hype up the juggernaut as a force on the main roster.

A Rollins return links in with this as well, there are plenty of feuds out there for Reigns as a heel and one of those is a match with Rollins who can play a face. It seems like a stretch, but perhaps Reigns replacing Rollins in the Authority will be what’s best for Reigns.
