Ronda Rousey has broken her silence for the first time since suffering a brutal knockout defeat at UFC 193 at the hands of Holly Holm on Saturday night.
Ultimately succumbing to a perfectly executed kick to the head, the now 12-1 fighter was in no state to speak after the title bout - her trip to hospital ruling out any media soundbites.
Now however, with the dust having settled, Rousey has taken to Instagram to update fans on her situation.

The message reads as follows:
The brief message is interesting for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is good to hear confirmation from Rousey herself that she didn't sustain any lasting damage following the punishing six-minute spell in the Octagon.
Her trip to a hospital immediately after losing the UFC women's bantamweight title appears to have simply been a precaution and, apart from a few stitches to close a wound on her lip, Rousey's injuries are nothing more than you would expect in the aftermath of any MMA fight.
The Instagram post also confirms that Rousey will be spending an extended period of time away from UFC in the future.
Some had speculated her defeat would spur on a quick rematch. However, with movie commitments already in place, the 28-year-old is unlikely to be contesting a title fight again until well into 2016.
Lastly, the message is of interest simply because we've never before seen or heard Rousey speaking from the perspective of a defeated fighter.
Unbeaten prior to facing Holm this weekend, this is the first time we can see the popular star reach for the tried and tested clichés that her previous opponents have all used in one form or another.
