Sports fans, happy Wednesday!

We’d like to welcome you to today’s effort at something resembling a round-up. If there’s credible trade news, we have it, if there’s breaking injury news, we have it, if there’s… you get the point.

Watch the video above to see yours truly hand you the headlines on a silver platter, or read on below if you’re that way inclined.

Warriors move to 12-0

It’s been said before and we’re going to say it again; if there’s a more impressive team than the Golden State Warriors in the NBA this year we’ve yet to see them play.

Stephen Curry once again inspired the California franchise to a hard-fought victory, this time seeing off the Toronto Raptors 115-110.

"We hold ourselves to a very high standard," Curry said.

"We didn't put any pressure on them defensively in the third quarter, we were sloppy on a couple of possessions offensively and gave them life. Those are things we need to improve on. Everyone likes to learn those lessons in wins."

It was a close one, and the Warriors were far from their best, but they now need just three more wins to reach the 15-0 NBA league record.

James on the Warriors' 'hunger'

Moving on, it was only a matter of time before LeBron James was asked his thoughts on the march of the aforementioned Warriors, and he believes it’s because they’re hungrier than other teams.

More specifically, he was referring to his own Cleveland Cavaliers, whom the Warriors beat during the NBA Finals last season. We can only agree.

Smith suspended for a year

Across to NFL, and Aldon Smith of the Oakland Raiders has been suspended for a year for violating the league’s policy on substance abuse.

The team confirmed the news last night but said that Smith remains in their long-term plans for the future.

The ban is the latest is a string of incidents involving the 26-year-old. Yet, the support for him remains high.

Cowboys make double cut

Last but not least, the Dallas Cowboys have decided to part ways with running back Christine Michael and defensive back Corey White.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport confirmed via his Twitter that the pair have both been cut due to playing and locker room reasons.
