Per Mertesacker has revealed that Arsenal players would love to see Wojciech Szczesny back at the Emirates Stadium.
The Polish goalkeeper is on a season-long loan at AS Roma following the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea in the summer.
Cech has been outstanding since joining the Gunners, but Mertesacker has admitted the players miss Szczesny, who was a popular member of the Arsenal dressing room.

"Wojciech wants to compete. I think he's a good goalkeeper and he can still develop," the Germany international told JD Football, according to the London Evening Standard. "The team wants him back - that's good for him.
"He's shown great character already in this team and I think he has got a bright future."
Szczesny should mature at AS Roma
Szczesny has made nine Serie A appearances for his loan club this season and conceded eight goals. There’s a chance he will end the 2015-16 campaign as a league champion, with third-placed Roma currently favourites to win the Scudetto.
Spending time away from the Emirates Stadium should benefit Szczesny in the long run. The 25-year-old’s behaviour and professionalism was sometimes questionable during his time with his parent club - multiple smoking incidents will not have been forgotten by Arsene Wenger - and spending time in Rome may help him to mature.
Cech has a few years left in him
However, Cech has shown this season that he still has a good few years left ahead of him.
If he keeps himself fit, there’s no reason why the ultra-professional Czech Republic international can’t play for another four or five years.
That will be bad news for Szczesny, who may need to consider the possibility of leaving Arsenal on a permanent basis in the summer.
