Liverpool have made an enquiry for Schalke winger Leroy Sane but are yet to bid for the Bundesliga ace.

In fact, with Jurgen Klopp still assessing his squad, the Daily Mail claim that it's unlikely the Merseyside outfit will step up their interest in the talented star in the January transfer window.

It had previously been suggested that the club were readying a £10 million bid for the youngster, but it appears that they're still monitoring the situation.

Sane, who is still only 19-years-old, has come to prominence in Germany's elite division recently, so it's not entirely surprising that Liverpool scouts are taking a look at him. In fact, the winger has been in fine form throughout the course of the campaign, scoring four goals in 12 Bundesliga appearances so far.

In fact, with three assists also to his name, Sane is more than capable of both creating and scoring goals. The dynamic midfielder still has a great deal to learn, but he's certainly on his way up in the game.

Creative stars

But, as it stands, Klopp has a number of talented, creative players at his disposal. With the likes of Adam Lallana, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino all plying their trade on Merseyside, Reds fans will be hoping to see the technically gifted players prove their credentials over the coming weeks and months.

However, Klopp will be well aware that he must help them progress; Lallana and Co. have a great deal of ability, but they've failed to produce the goods on a consistent basis for some time. Consistency will be key for the Reds in their pursuit of securing a place in the top four this season.

With a tricky test against Premier League leaders Manchester City on the horizon, Liverpool's elite players must perform for the duration of the season.
